Today, BMW announced the digital reveal of the new-for-2021 4 Series Coupe. With this announcement, the Bavarian automaker included this shadowy teaser image of the new 4 Series. Naturally, being too impatient to wait until the reveal, I frantically opened some image editing software and attempted to enhance :
Unsurprisingly, the downward flare of the nostrils, I mean BMW Kidney Grilles, is almost fully obscured. BMW’s not messing around here. This is a grille to outright

We do get to see the overall shape of the front wheel, so that’s something?
The new BMW 4 Series will definitely benefit from a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Unless you have a nose piercing and want your car’s schnoz to match yours. If that’s your vibe, then more ///M power to you. Slap that license plate front & center.
What do you think of the new 4 Series? Will you be watching !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ? Lemme know in the comments below.

if my kidneys looked like that I’d probably be on a transplant list.

I’ve seen a couple of the new grills in person (not on this one, obv) and they are truly appalling . What worries me most is I usually think BMWs are really ugly when they come out and then a few years later they grow on me. If that is the case with this one I worry for our future.

I’m worried that these designs could actually be good? I mean they look awful, but I’m concerned that I like a lot of cars from when I was growing up, so maybe I’m just an old curmudgeon who doesn’t like new stuff just because it’s different? It does give me confidence that everyone (except BMW’s designers I guess) seems to think that grills are terrible.

The 7 Series is both snorty and squinty at the same time.
But unlike the 4 Series, its nostrils are flared upward, like it’s noticing a disagreeable scent in the air . The 4 Series is following a scent on the ground, as if it’s searching for something to eat.

What’s probably the M440i leaked a little while ago. Ugh.

One flared nostril for each turbocharger in the S58 engine! Authenticity.

M440i? More like, M4- SNORTY- i
If that plastic rectangle (for a number plate?) is a factory part of the grille, this is truly a car of 2020.

You know, I don’t mind it. Looks a bit like a fish. But keep in mind I also like the X6.

I don’t know if anyone else watches, but Matt Farrah had Jason Cammisa on his podcast yesterday, and they spent a few minutes talking BMW. Their determina t ion was that they have completely lost their way, and basically the M2 in the only slightly desir able car they sell. To be honest, I kinda agree with them.
Also, this is going to backfire on them like the Bangle Butt did. You heard it here first (last?).

My 4-cylinder Camaro is a better driving machine than anything BMW sells today. BMW doesn’t prioritize sportiness.
